All “New” School Year

Experiencing some weird emotions today. The first day of school is good for me: I work better when I have a routine, and the summer, though I look forward to it every year and love it the whole time, is never as productive. I finished up my summer with a Random Road Writers’ Retreat, and created a new short story: an excellent way to launch into a productive Fall.

This year is different: the Girl has headed off to her first day of grade ten. She’s very keen on getting back into being busy, and actively involved, and hanging with her friends. The Boy, on the other hand…has been at work since 5:30 this morning. He graduated in June and is now proceeding with the rest of his life. Exciting and strange, yet he confessed to feeling a bit melancholy. Yup. Life is going to be different from now on, my dear.
