The magic of cooking

The most recent chapter I posted in the podcast was where Skimnoddle shows us his magic. So now we have a better idea of why Skimnoddle is actually a useful fellow, besides the cooking. For me, having him around to cook would be enough. I don’t like cooking. My family has always liked the food I make, but I don’t take any pleasure from it. The thing is I really like food, so I appreciate that Matt cooks. I have always cooked during the week because he was at work and of course the kids needed to eat at a reasonable time, and even now I cook during the week. But Matt cooks on the weekends. He’s way better than I am and he enjoys it. So it makes for decent division of labour. There are a few things I do enjoy: I love making soup. I love making haggis. And I’m pretty much a genius with leftovers, turning them into something new. There’s a lot of chance for that coz we always cook with the idea of having leftovers so there’s something for lunch.

Another thing I do to feel good during these crazy times is that every few days I reach out to a friend and check in. Say Hi. I want to make sure everyone’s doing ok. And by doing that I also get to have a nice chat with a friend, so it’s good for both of us.

And now after all that talk of food I am hungry, so… Gotta go!
