Left-hand turns

Have you ever noticed that when you’re approach­ing an inter­sec­tion and someone from your right is turn­ing left into the road you’re on, they often cut the corner? I don’t know how many times I’ve nearly been smashed by someone who seems sur­prised that there might be someone in that oncom­ing lane. I don’t get it. Go around the lane as if there is someone there, always!
