I invented LARPing

I invented LARPing

Heh… The funny thing is that when I was coming up with the concept of Griffin and the Spurious Correlations, I was trying to come up with a way to describe what was happening in the tournament, and I was thinking ok, it’s a role playing game, but it isn’t a table top RPG, it’s 3D, it’s actual people actually moving about in the world, interacting, so it’s like…not the cartoon version of the movie, it’s… it’s… Live Action, that’s it, it’s a Live Action Role Playing game! And I can call it LARPing for short! How clever am I to have come up with that!

And not long after… I learned that LARPing is already a Thing. And that’s what they call it: Live Action Role Playing, or LARPing.

I thought, crap! But I made it up. Crap, someone else already made it up before I did. But then I was relieved because it meant that Hey, I don’t have to explain what it is, because people can figure it out, or they already know!

Anyway, you heard it here. I invented the concept of LARPing. Late to the party.
